LML+ there is no registration. We do need a head count for attendance, email here or invite yourself on the facebook event page created.

Send email to- Lmldosomething@gmail.com

You will get tulips and the ship will set sail from the Walmart lot at 8AM.

Something more than just a bike race- FUNDRAISER.

Fundraiser history- Year 1 we raised $1300 for a young man in need. Year 2 we generated 400 lbs of food and $ for local food shelf. Year 3 the raiser brought in more than $2000 for a beautiful woman fighting cancer. Year 4 (last year) we rallied with the Bauers in support of Jason and his fight... Year 5 was cancer awareness and fund support to a single Mom.

Ethos: You are responsible for you. If you get stuck in one spot, you gotta get yourself out of it. Bring a phone, straight key for an SOS, or sky flares.

NOTE: The course will not be the same as last year. So disregard your bootleg GPS map. You rely on it, and it will cheat you.

THANKS TO MILLTOWN CYCLES & HARRY'S CAFE for their continued support!

LML+ TBD

LML+, TBD. Something will happen if an incentive surfaces... Incentives have nothing to do with bicycles or racing... Incentives are individuals in need of help. If we find someone that can benefit from this event, it will happen. If we don't, then it will get passed over for other opportunities to 'Do Something'.

What's different- 100 miles, 3 separate trails/ 9 miles of singletrack,
What's the same- climbs to nowhere, bootleg, randoms & oddities

The first leg will be very similar to LML. Coming back from Milltown, it wont. You will encounter 3 separate singletrack trails (9 miles) in addition to a random mix. The finish will be 2 miles from the parking lot. That is okay, you rode 100 miles, you can ride 2 miles back to the lot. We will congregate at Harry's café for food/ drink/ banter.

This deal is a race, ride it at whatever pace you want or are forced to.

What bike? Trial and error...

If you are inspired to donate to the fundraiser the go fund me will still be active. Do Something.

Most deserving isn't always the winner.

Race is Canceled for 2018-

Always start with the good. LML has raised over $2500 for the Nesbitt family and we didn't even race our bikes... How awesome is that!

The bad. We have to fold em... Race is canceled.

Much communication on the cancelation and ability to contribute to the fundraiser is happening on Facebook.

If compelled to contribute to the fundraiser you can use go fund me, Matt Nesbitt is the guy we are helping.

Unofficial LML routes and maybe something larger in scale will be planned for when the singletrack actually opens up. If Spring arrives sometime before the end of May there will be a beyond LML type rally.
Year 1, conditions were perfect.

Registration Closed

Registration is now closed. If you have a valid reason and plan to DONATE mightily then plead your case in the request at lmldosomething@gmail.com

What else:
- If you need to cancel LET US KNOW, it is important to have an accurate head count when sending you off into the abyss heading south into north iowa.
- SWAG SWAP- everybody brings a new in box or hardly used bike something. These are the prizes. No junk allowed.
- Tulip Notes- there will be no electronic advance distribution of cue sheets. We want to keep the 'old school' self navigation aspect of this race alive.
north iowa Gravel Series 3rd annual- this race has joined forces with 2 other race riddles, Ragnarök, and Dickie Scramble. Simple math will be used to calculate the series, results, and glory applied as required.
- Cancer affects us all. I really hope this race/ ride does something for you and those you impact.

Race Update-

Race date 3-24-18

Registration ends 2-28-18 for those new to LML.

Registration ends 3-8-18 for those that know what 'climb to nowhere' means.

Register at the email link above.

This race is going to support a local family man who is battling cancer. If you want to contribute via Go Fund Me, his name is Matt Nesbitt.

More race details as the event gets closer.

If your wondering March 24th, weather concerns??? That is why our backup date is Apr 14th. In the 5 years this race has occurred, we postponed once due to significant snow. Will see how it shakes out...

I expect LML V 6 to be similar to this/ V 3

LML 2017. it's a wrap.

Final thoughts LML Version 5.8-

Release the hounds! courtesy of TMB Photo
You can order your TMB Photo shots here- http://tmbimages.com/Cycling/Gravel/2017/20170325-Lakeville-Milltown-Lakeville

- Once again, this edition of LML blows me away with generosity. On behalf of Monica (the beneficiary), THANK YOU. This event would not continue if it was just a race... Making a difference no matter how big or small is why this thing happens.
- Special THANK YOU to the volunteers- Anna G, Don McN, Amanda B, Kelly B, TMB, Victoria, Tyler, C5, DVD, the duo of Jimmmmay & the one and only Stoener, Brenda K, Ms Madeline K, & my partner in this thing we call life, Dawn.
- One last THANK YOU to the sponsors; Harry's Café, & Milltown Cycles, without them, this race would not happen. Specials 'thanks' to Todd T, Travis S, and the volunteers that helped at Milltown Cycles. One more 'thanks' to Dan and Automotive Enginuity for there help with the race prep at the finish line.

Things to ponder for LML 2018-
- Lite route timed, means longer, means a thing we call 'climb(s) to nowhere or knowhere'.
- Use of advanced course digital maps. This will only be done if weather results in soggy paper tulips. Sorry, I'm with the Ragnarok Guys, this is part race/ part self navigation... You get yourself in a hole, you get out of it.
- Word from the gravel street, people were skipping the 1 and only Climb To Nowhere. LAME.
- No shows. I was a tad disappointed in the 30+ no shows. You had ample time to let me know you were not making it. The weather was no threat either.
- If you are an IT software wizard I would like to come up with a better and more efficient format for tulip notes. If interested, send me a signal.
- To end on a good note. Each year I say, if it was more fun than the previous, then we do it again... It was, so we shall. See you at some random spot on some random deal... For now, I go back in my shell.

Final Results- facts, fallacies, & innuendo's

Results are Final- '*' indicates updates. Sean Mailen finished seventh, Chelsea Strate tied for first Female finisher... Margin of error was under 10%. Thanks to my guys...

Facts-
155 participated, 33 Lite racers, 1 hard core Sveta Vold and her 2 kids in tow...

Feedback from the Lite crowd, you all would have appreciated being scored and timed... I have a couple ideas... How about I add a climb to nowhere and a climb to knowwhere  to slow you all down so that my guys are there to tally you results... Sound good? Perfect.

Highlighted in yellow below- you never checked in with any of my guys... Hope your okay and you didn't get cheated.

Apologies to the last few full loop finishers for not being at the line. Again 10% error factor in accumulating the head count.

MOST IMPORTANT. The fundraiser and generous donations you guys contributed to Monica Theis. $5224 dollars in fact. Again, THANK YOU. That makes us want to do this again...

Again THANKS to HARRY'S CAFE (especially Victoria), and MILLTOWN CYCLES.

Questions comments on results (if it matters), let me know...
