LML 2018 will be 3-24-18, with a backup date of 4-14-18.

Send email to-

In the email, state full name, and either the 'Full' ~80+mi or 'Lite' ~40 mi route. No single speed, fatbike or whatever class, just M or F.

More details to come on the fundraiser, but do expect it to go for good.

Similar drill to last five editions. Harry's Cafe in Lakeville to Milltown Cycles in Faribault, and return. Race will be ~80 miles on a mix of gravel, pavement, and as much off road and questionable stuff as mother nature will allow. Start will be from Harry's at 8AM, park in the Walmart lot.

Race will be capped at ~100 people. If you showed last year you are automatically in but email must be sent, and I play favorites.

Something more than just a bike race- FUNDRAISER.

Fundraiser history- Year 1 we raised $1300 for a young man in need. Year 2 we generated 400 lbs of food and $ for local food shelf. Year 3 the raiser brought in more than $2000 for a beautiful woman fighting cancer. Year 4 (last year) we rallied with the Bauers in support of Jason and his fight... Year 5 was cancer awareness and fund support to a single Mom.

Ethos: You are responsible for you. If you get stuck in one spot, you gotta get yourself out of it. Bring a phone, straight key for an SOS, or sky flares.

NOTE: The course will not be the same as last year. So disregard your bootleg GPS map. You rely on it, and it will cheat you.

THANKS TO MILLTOWN CYCLES & HARRY'S CAFE for their continued support!

Wrap Up (Food Drive, Results)

This group of knuckheads that likes to ride bikes in questionable conditions raised 405 pounds of food and $105 for the Lakeville Resource Center (local food shelf)...

Race Details (some of you are numbers types)- 95 were suppose to show, 80 at the line, 75 finishers. Winning time came in at 1:33PM, we left around 8:45AM (apply your math skills). We covered 82 miles (some more, some less, in a very quick gravel/ roady time). The gravel might be faster now than it will be for the rest of the Spring/ Summer.

NOTE- Results are updated with those that disclosed they missed the climb to knowwhere/ nowhere. It was a good little kicker. The day prior I couldn't get my jeep up it in 4WD (almost slide backward into the ditch), but I was hoping the ice would be gone, it was. Answered prayer.

Results (as official as I get)

In the world I live, if you received 'a warning', then you were informed. As such, I informed all that there would be a change on the second leg (climb to nowhere or knowwhere). If you paid heed, you followed, if not, you didn't. No biggie as long as you don't care much on the results.

Results unfiltered (page 1)-
the bottle belongs to C5 Photo, thanks too Brent

Male Top 5- Mailen, Roeser, Hinkens!, Minier, Buchanan

Last Minute Updates

Everybody wants to know how is the course/ roads...
Roads are just fine... For the most part dry, but there will be spots that will make your bike less than clean. Be careful if you get cute trying to weave around standing water. We ride on open roads with traffic, keep your head up, you are responsible for you and following rules of the road.

KEEP SAYING THIS- "We live in MN, we like to ride bikes, we love this stuff!".

- Bike, helmet, water, energy, enough gear to keep you dry, Swag Swap, cyclecomputer, tulip holder, sky flares, straight key, your LCR decoder ring, and some time after the race to patron Harry's Cafe. Take this race as serious or as much of a joke as you like...

A day on the bike with a little adversity, don't get any better than that. See you in the AM.

Food Drive Details

So last year all those that partook raised $1300 for a very strong young man that had life throw him a curve ball.

This year your task is to help raise goods for the local food shelf. This time of year food shelves are ran dry from activity over the winter, thus the March Drive to raise goods for those that need help.

Fresh and Perishables- fruits, veggies, produce, cellar foods with long shelf life, juice, tortillas
Dry Goods- oatmeal, peanut butter, rice, pasta, dried beans, vegetable oils, flour, canned fruit, canned vegetables, sugar, canned meats, mac/ cheese
Condiments- ketchup, mustard, bbq, salsa, soy, spices
Paper/ Household- toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, dish soap
Hygiene- toothpaste/ brushes, shampoo/ conditioner, wash

Do Not Bring- Soda, sugar drinks, candy, bakery, ramen (seriously), chips, canned pasta

Catch back on, would ya!

RACE NOTE- Swag Swap is once again on. Bring your new in box or slightly never used parts or misc bike stash to swap with others.

Top Swag from last year- Gear bag with bottles of 'drink' (courtsey of Eddie), top item still available from last year- shimanno bottom bracket in a sram box. ha.

Even better news- C5 Photo will be there to catch you getting gapped like in above photo.
